The Staff Pad is proud to collaborate with a non-profit healthcare system in Helena, Montana, dedicated to providing exceptional care and a strong community commitment to setting the gold standard for healthcare in the region. The Mental Health Technician plays a vital role in patient care, supporting the multidisciplinary treatment team and the patient’s therapeutic plan. Key responsibilities include observing and documenting patient information relevant to the treatment plan and communicating this to the Staff Registered Nurse. Candidates must be able to assist patients physically, respond to emergencies, and work effectively within a clinical team.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Preferred 1 year of experience in a behavioral health unit and knowledge of safety measures.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: CNA preferred; if not certified at hire, must obtain within 1 year. Medical terminology and current BLS Certification are required, along with CPI/PART as mandated by the state.
Aptitudes: Ability to manage multiple tasks and stresses, strong interpersonal skills for empathetic patient care, and flexibility in scheduling. Proficiency in reading, writing, and basic arithmetic is necessary.
