Role Overview

We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure our suppliers meet the quality standards of the Condair Quality Management System (QMS). Responsibilities include conducting supplier audits, evaluations, and supporting manufacturing growth. This position can be based in Richmond, VA, or remotely near an airport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audits and establish specifications using statistical and QMS practices.
  • Update QMS with incidents and improvements.
  • Monitor production cycles and perform tests to identify malfunctions early.
  • Participate in inspections for defects and durability.
  • Support Non-Conforming Report (NCR) activities.
  • Identify root causes of issues and develop countermeasures.
  • Prepare reports related to product quality.
  • Review and suggest improvements to quality documentation.
  • Set and track quality assurance goals.
  • Develop supplier scorecards for quality.
  • Assist Purchasing in sourcing decisions.
  • Support the PPAP program.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for facility changes.
  • Support capital activities related to quality.
  • Travel 50% to 75% to support vendors across North America.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience, with 1-5 years in quality engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with QMS and testing methodologies.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of Geometric Tolerancing and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Solidworks or Pro-Engineer is a plus.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Understanding of manufacturing principles.
