Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is tasked with patient triage and education, supporting physicians during office hours, and following up on prescriptions, procedures, and tests. Accurate chart documentation is essential to ensure all visit information is complete.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in assessing patient needs by taking vital signs, history, and determining chief complaints.
  • Perform tests as directed by the physician.
  • Prepare equipment and assist with medical treatments and procedures.
  • Draw lab specimens and complete necessary documentation.
  • Administer prescribed medications and injections.
  • Support patient education and instructions.
  • Triages patients to identify emergencies and provide immediate support.
  • Help develop and document patient care protocols and educational materials.
  • Compile and analyze medical and operational data for reporting.
  • Verify treatment forms for reimbursement accuracy and route information appropriately.
  • Ensure accurate entry into the Electronic Health Record.

Minimum Education

  • Associate’s degree required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum Work Experience

  • At least two years of clinical experience in a physician’s office.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Current RN license to practice in NC.
