Department/Unit Summary
Essential Functions
- Assess patients’ physical and mental health, including reactions to illnesses and treatments.
- Record and report nursing assessment results.
- Plan, initiate, deliver, and evaluate nursing actions.
- Teach, assign, delegate, and supervise personnel in treatment implementation.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to determine appropriate patient care, without prescribing treatments or making diagnoses unless supervised by a licensed physician.
- Implement prescribed treatment and pharmaceutical regimens.
- Provide health teaching and counseling.
- Supervise, teach, and evaluate nursing functions and services.
- Ensure safe and effective nursing care, directly or indirectly.
- Adhere to attendance policies and core measure initiatives.

Qualifications and requirements
Applicants must have a current state RN license; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Additional requirements include:
- Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
- ACLS and PALS certifications within six months of hire.
- One year of Med/Surg experience preferred.
- ASLS certification preferred.
