Role Overview

We are seeking a Plant Buyer to manage purchasing and inventory for specific product lines within an ERP system. This role requires a solid understanding of supply chain dynamics and their impact on cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage procurement of direct and indirect materials for our new Richmond production site.
  • Engage in local sourcing projects with the corporate procurement team.
  • Address complex purchasing issues effectively.
  • Ensure timely processing of purchasing activities.
  • Monitor supplier performance and report operational metrics.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Assist in data analysis and reporting for business improvements.
  • Document and communicate shortages and delivery issues.
  • Process purchase requisitions and monitor delivery timelines.
  • Adhere to Condair’s Quality Assurance System.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge and revenue targets.
  • Manage inventory effectively using ABC/XYZ techniques.
  • Identify and manage slow-moving goods.
  • Implement Kanban systems for selected items.
  • Analyze and address supply-related inefficiencies.
  • Understand supplier obligations for contract goods.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment; Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Familiarity with MRP systems and proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of SAP and Acumatica is a plus.
  • Ability to foster collaboration and maintain relationships.
  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism.
  • Adaptability to cultural differences and changing circumstances.
  • Self-starter with strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of project management standards.
