JOB SUMMARY: This role involves preparing and handling food while adhering to food safety standards and quality controls. Responsibilities include sourcing recipes, ordering ingredients, and evaluating meal preparations. The position requires participation in daily quality control and food production, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Flexibility for weekend and holiday shifts is necessary, along with accurate therapeutic food modifications.

Responsibilities
  • Execute basic cooking techniques accurately.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of quality food production.
  • Utilize standardized recipes and complete production sheets.
  • Monitor food supplies and report shortages.
  • Deliver excellent customer service.
  • Taste food before serving and adjust flavors as needed.
  • Perform basic math for recipe adherence.
  • Follow safety protocols for waste and sharps disposal.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Report faulty equipment or unsafe conditions.
  • Label and date food for storage, ensuring cleanliness.
Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Familiarity with food preparation, sanitation, and safety standards, typically gained through formal training and at least one year of experience, preferably in healthcare.

EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED preferred for reading and math skills.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: None required.
