About Civica

Civica, a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization founded in 2018, aims to alleviate chronic generic drug shortages and high prices in the U.S. Led by seasoned healthcare and pharmaceutical leaders, Civica has over 55 health systems as members, representing 1,500 hospitals and one-third of U.S. hospital beds. The organization supplies essential medicines to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, and the Strategic National Stockpile.

Recently, CivicaScript was launched to manufacture affordable insulins for diabetes patients, set to be available in 2024. Civica’s mission is to ensure quality generic medications are accessible and affordable, with a focus on patient welfare. Their Petersburg, VA facility is under construction and will produce affordable insulin and sterile injectable medicines.

Job Description

The Project Manager will be vital in launching manufacturing at the Petersburg site, overseeing project planning, execution, and completion. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and biologics processes is essential.

Essential Duties:

  • Lead end-to-end project management, from initiation to closure.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and timelines with stakeholders.
  • Develop project plans and schedules for timely implementation.
  • Create dashboards to monitor progress and manage risks.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and communicate updates.
  • Document meeting minutes and action items.
  • Prepare and present project status reports.
  • Conduct project reviews for continuous improvement.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and best practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of project management experience; PMP preferred.
  • Proactive in learning and sharing knowledge.
  • Familiar with project management tools and related disciplines.
  • Experience in cGMP environments meeting FDA and ICH guidelines.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented settings.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude towards challenges.
  • Advanced skills in MS Project, Office Suite, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

PMP Certification.
