PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Supports FMCNA’s mission and values, adhering to compliance and regulatory standards. Functions within the hemodialysis team to provide safe dialysis therapy under a licensed nurse’s supervision, ensuring a clean and safe environment. Engages in quality enhancement and continuous improvement activities to boost patient satisfaction.
DUTIES / ACTIVITIES:
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Promote FMS culture and customer service standards.
Deliver exceptional service to all customers.
Build effective relationships through timely communication.
Proactively address and resolve customer service issues.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
PATIENT CARE:
Assist in patient education on adequacy measures.
Welcome patients and report any concerns to the nurse.
Monitor vascular access and vital signs, reporting findings.
Initiate and monitor dialysis treatment as prescribed.
Document treatment parameters accurately.
Ensure safety protocols are followed.
MAINTENANCE/TECHNICAL:
Maintain a clean and safe environment.
Prepare and disinfect equipment as per policy.
Conduct necessary machine tests before treatment.
CLERICAL & ADMINISTRATIVE:
Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement activities.
Accurately enter treatment data and prepare patient charts.
OTHER:
Perform additional assigned duties.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires lifting, standing, and bending. Must be able to handle up to 40 lbs. with assistance available.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent; certification required.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous patient care experience preferred.
