The Diversion Clinician collaborates with Salem Hospital, Marion County Jail, and community partners to address urgent situations for individuals in the BRES program. This role involves managing a caseload of individuals with limited financial resources, aiming to divert them from emergency rooms, inpatient hospitalization, and jail while promoting community stabilization. Responsibilities include creating and monitoring individualized service plans and providing brief therapy. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker is required for this position to support Medicare patients.
We offer a recruitment bonus of $2,000 for new employees starting between January 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025, included in the first paycheck. For those relocating from outside Oregon, we provide a relocation package of up to $3,000 for moving expenses and a $3,000 relocation bonus (prorated based on FTE) upon proof of Oregon residency.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIESProvide assessments and treatment for individuals and families, including crisis intervention services. The primary responsibility is to deliver assessment and treatment services to individuals with complex needs.
SUPERVISION RECEIVEDWork under a supervisor who assigns tasks and reviews results for effectiveness.
SUPERVISION EXERCISEDThis position does not primarily supervise employees but may act as a lead worker as defined by Marion County Personnel Rules.
TYPICAL DUTIES- Screen referrals for the BRES program and conduct intake evaluations.
- Connect clients with community services and collaborate with jail mental health specialists.
- Provide brief counseling and community outreach as needed.
- Complete clinical documentation in a timely manner.
- Participate in weekly diversion program meetings and case reviews.
- Facilitate weekly mental health groups at Lotus House.
- Attend monthly PCC team meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field or a Bachelor’s degree in nursing or occupational therapy with state licensure.
- One year of post-master’s degree experience in behavioral health.
- Preference for candidates who are LCSW, CSWA, or eligible for LCSW.
- Must obtain necessary licenses and certifications within the first 30 days of employment.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass a criminal background check.
- This is a safety-sensitive position requiring a pre-employment drug screen.
We offer a retention bonus of $3,000 after six months of continuous employment and tuition assistance of up to $20,000 for professional development in behavioral health. Marion County provides a comprehensive benefits package for regular employees working 50% or more of the scheduled work week.
